Heck Recognizes 64th Anniversary of Israel's Independence

WASHINGTON – Today Congressman Joe Heck (R-NV-03), a member of the House Armed Services and Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, released the following statement in recognition of Israel's 64th anniversary as an independent nation.

"The United States has no greater ally in the Middle East than Israel. As a fellow democracy, Israel has constantly struggled to maintain her security and sovereignty amid both real attacks and the threat of further conflict. I remain firmly committed to supporting a strong US-Israeli relationship as we continue to work towards solutions that will lead to a lasting peace in the region. Today, we recognize Israel's 64th anniversary as an independent nation and assure her that the unwavering friendship between our nations is as strong as ever."
